Lawn Maintenance

Lawn maintenance is a crucial part of any lawn care program.  Generally, most people, not in the lawn care industry think of lawn maintenance as simply mowing the lawn and putting down some fertilizer.  It’s much more involved than this, however.

Lawn maintenance includes five key processes to maintain a healthy, thriving lawn:

  1. Fertilization
  2. Proper lawn mowing
  3. Core aeration
  4. Over-seeding
  5. Weed control

With proper lawn maintenance year after year, your lawn will become healthier by creating deeper roots, thicker grass which will be able to retain moisture, control weeds by holding herbicides longer, fight disease and the lawn will look AWESOME.

Lawn Aeration

Performed spring or fall, aeration helps to thicken even the worst lawns. Aerating your lawn puts deep holes in the soil allowing air, water and nutrients to reach your grass’s root zone. In addition, aeration reduces thatch build-up, reduces insect and disease activity and helps to reduce soil compaction. Further, it lessens water runoff, allowing more of your lawn irrigation to be used instead of wasted.

Lawn Dethatching

Performed in the spring or fall, dethatching helps maintain a lush, healthy lawn. Removing a layer of built up leaf debris and excess thatch allows moisture, oxygen and nutrients to penetrate the soil. As part of our service, all material is hauled away and dumped off-site.

Lawn Over-seeding

Performed in the late fall through winter, over-seeding is done as part of a lawn renovation. We over-seed an established lawn at approximately 5 pounds per 1000 square feet. Bare spots are seeded at approximately 8-10 pounds per 1000 square feet. BUYERS BEWARE: this is where a lot of lawn companies will cut cost to come in at a cheaper quote. You get what you pay for: if there’s no seed; there will be no grass in the spring.
